Our Philosophy
Substance use disorder is not simply a physical condition. It affects how a person thinks, feels, and relates to the world around them. That is why we do not treat it symptomatically.
At the Believe Detox Center, we hold that individuals must feel empowered to make decisions about their own care. True recovery begins when a person understands their situation, feels heard, and takes an active role in their healing. Our job is to create the conditions where that is possible.
We address the whole person — body, mind, and behavior — not just the withdrawal.
How We Put This Into Practice
A Safe, Structured Environment We provide residential detoxification services for adults 18 and older. Our program is built on a medically managed model with 24-hour monitoring and observation. In the critical first 72 hours after admission, every resident is physically checked at least every 30 minutes. Safety is never an afterthought here.
Evidence-Based, Abstinence-Focused Care Our program approach is abstinence-based and grounded in evidence-based practices. We maintain a fully drug- and alcohol-free environment throughout treatment. This is not just a rule — it is the foundation that makes real healing possible.
Care That Goes Beyond Detox Detoxification is the first step, not the final one. Depending on how a resident is feeling, their daily schedule may include individual counseling, group sessions, substance abuse education, family therapy, and self-help meetings. We connect residents with ongoing therapeutic services before they leave, because we know that what happens after discharge matters just as much as what happens during it.
Personalized to Each Individual No two people arrive at the Believe Detox Center the same way. That is why each resident receives an individual assessment from our physician to determine the right level of detoxification care. Our program is open-ended, meaning we do not turn anyone away who wants to get — and remain — sober.
What We Are Working Toward
Our commitment to residents does not stop at discharge. We measure our success by outcomes that matter.
Our program targets:
- 95% of residents complete detoxification services or transfer to the next appropriate level of care.
- 95% are connected to ongoing therapeutic services before leaving.
- 60% remain clean and sober for up to one year after successful program completion.
- 70% gain employment or enroll in further education within one year of discharge.
These numbers represent real people. They are the standard we hold ourselves to.
A Note on Who We Serve
Believe Detox Center serves adults with alcohol and drug-related problems who need a safe, stable environment to begin recovery — but who do not require the full resources of an acute care hospital. Many of our residents have jobs and homes waiting for them. They come to us to get stable, get clear, and get back to their lives — for good.
We are licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and accredited for National Quality Approval. Our staffing meets or exceeds the detoxification standards set by California’s Alcohol and Drug Program Certification Standards.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
